Women in Golf CharterĀ
The R&A launched the Women in Golf Charter in May 2018, supported by England Golf and other organisations from across the industry.
The purpose of the Women in Golf Charter;
- To encourage more women and girls to play the game and join clubs
- To inspire more families to enjoy golf as a group leisure activity
- To open up more opportunities for women to work within the golf industry
Houghton le Spring Golf Club have signed up to the Charter and have made a commitment to;
- Deliver two initiatives annually targeting women/girls and families that are aligned with key England Golf campaigns
- Promote a membership pathway, for women/girls and families to progress within the club
- Have designated Champions/Mentors within the club who can assist and support new participants and members
- To achieve 30% female representation on our Club Committee by actively promoting these positions and maintain 30% female representation on our Club Board of Directors
- Continue to stage and develop male and female competitions on the same day
- Continue to maintain / improve on course toilet facilities for females
- To become a SafeGolf accredited club and ensure policies and procedures remain up to date
- Appoint a designated Charter Champion within the club who can assist with the promotion and reporting of the charter
