HLSGC Re-Opening Update for Members – 27/11/20

HOUGHTON LE SPRING GOLF CLUB – PLAY SAFE-STAY SAFE

Club Re-opening Update for Members 27.11.20

Following recent confirmation by the Government and England Golf that golf courses can re-open for play from 2nd December 2020, and that our area will be in Tier 3 restrictions, the Covid 19 Sub-committee have met this evening to discuss what steps we will introduce to enable our valued members to get back on the course as soon as we are allowed.

The committee are pleased to announce that the golf course will re-open for play for members only from Wednesday 2nd December 2020, and exclusively up-to and including Sunday 13th December. Members guests and visitors will be welcomed back from Monday 14th December 2020.

Unfortunately, because of the Tier 3 rules, the clubhouse bar will remain closed.

Sunday competitions will resume from the 6th December 2020. BRS booking for the first competition will open at 7.00pm on Monday 30th November 2020. Lady section competitions will resume Saturday 5th December 2020 at the usual start time.  In a change to the Mens competition schedule the  Xmas Fayre Rounds 3 -5 will replace the scheduled competitions on the 6th , 13th and 20th of  December 2020.  Sign up for the Sunday 13th of December 2020 will take place as normal on Thursday 3rd December 2020.

BRS bookings for play covering the period from Wednesday 2nd December up-to and including Saturday 5th December will open at 6.00pm on Tuesday 1st December 2020.

The Committee respectfully asks those members securing a competition tee time for Sunday 6th December not to play on Saturday 5th December 2020 to give more members who work during the week an opportunity to have a round also on the first weekend of re- opening.

This is a one off request as we move forward into the second week when we will return to pre-lockdown BRS booking rules and procedures.

Existing PLAY SAFE – STAY SAFE rules will continue on and off the course.

We hope all members are well and looking forward to resuming playing the game they love and enjoy once more.
