Elliott Westland Gents Pairs Open 18/07/20 Captains Message & Result
In the absence of the usual presentation which accompanies the Elliott Westland Open I wish to offer my speech on line.
Firstly thanks to our sponsors Elliott Westland who continue to support our golf club and have done for many years .
This wonderful golf club of ours once again hosted a very successful open . I listened to many people in the bar who commented on how good a condition the golf course was in , Wayne and Dip hats off to you great job lads. Last night I witnessed 2 of our members who spent 3 hours each of their own time strimming in the rain ( not singing! ) , great effort Elly and Gary Atkinson. First thing this morning for the 3rd consecutive day Colin Bainbridge raked all the bunkers.
Then we move onto the starters ,car Park attendants and shop staff Pauline Baxter, Andy Edmondson, Jim Belshaw, Vince Hodgson, Norman Baxter, Dave Allan, Chris Coleman, Valda Grant, Dave Freeman, Joanna Ellison and Competition Secretary Ian Cassap I offer my sincere thanks . An absolutely fantastic team effort by you all. Apologies if I have missed anyone in my thanks there are so many of you .
The winning scores were shared between members and visitors with some enjoying the improved weather as the day progressed although a very early score of 47 points won the day congratulations to you all.
