Houghton ladies shine again

 

The Durham County Ladies Golf Association, Inter County Challenge (Durham v Northumberland) took place at Consett Golf Club on Wednesday 10 July. The competition comprised of six pairs from each County, who had all pre qualified, this included two pairs from Houghton-Le-Spring Golf Club; Pauline Baxter and Yvonne Setchell plus Jackie Elliott and Chris Bell.

 

The ladies from Houghton had a very successful day with Pauline and Yvonne scoring 39 points giving them second place. Jackie and Chris were not far behind on 37 points which saw them achieve fourth place. All the competitors scores were then added together and in a close call Durham were just pipped by Northumberland 175 to 173.
