Covid 19 – Information and Update for Members 04/11/20

At his press conference on Saturday 31st October 2020 the Prime Minister announced that a second national lockdown will be imposed across England with all non-essential shops, restaurants, pubs and leisure facilities to close for at least four weeks and beginning at 00:01 hours on Thursday 5th November 2020. Despite late lobbying by England Golf for golf courses to be exempt from these latest restrictions and to allow golf courses to remain open the government has not relented.

Therefore, the Committee can formally confirm that our golf course and all club-house facilities will be closed from 6.00pm on Wednesday 4th November 2020.

Access will be for greens staff and committee members only, performing essential course maintenance and official club business, during the lock-down period.

The Committee would like to thank all our staff who are affected, and moving into another period of furlough, for their continued dedication and understanding throughout this difficult year for them.

The Committee, will of course, keep members updated at all times of all club news or changes which will impact on the above through the club website and social media pages.

Let’s hope these latest lockdown measures are successful and we can return to playing golf as soon as possible.

John Walvin, Chairman on behalf of the Committee.
