Competition Score Returns from 05/07/20

From Sunday 5th July 2020 – Mens Tom Finch Goblet Competition .

To coincide with the reopening of the clubhouse to members we are reintroducing the use of the competition touch screen in order to return competition scores for members.

The following process must be followed to coincide with the club’s Play Safe Stay Safe Guidelines -:

  •  The one card per group system remains in operation.  Card to be collected by one member of the group on payment of group fees in the shop who will be designated marker for the group. The card must not be past on once collected from the shop.

  • On completion of play the marker must agree the groups scores and sign the card as correct ( Marker to sign only) .  I would still recommend each player safely photograph their card for their own reference which  can be emailed to me in the event of any issues.

  • The marker must return their  equipment to car park then without delay access the competition touchscreen via the main entrance .  This must strictly be done by the marker only and without anyone in the group accompanying the marker.

  •  Prior to and after using the touch screen you must use the provided sanitiser to cleanse hands and wipe the screen with wipes provided.

  • ALL SCORES ON THE CARD MUST BE ENTERED  by the marker into the touch screen.   THIS INCLUDES NO RETURNS !!    Once the correct scores are entered  on the touchscreen , deposit the  card into the black box situated next to the touch screen DO NOT USE THE BOX ATTACHED TO THE WALL.

  • PLEASE DO NOT JUST PUT THE CARD IN THE BOX AS THIS SIMPLY DELAYS THE FINALISING OF THE  COMPETITION AND DELAYS THE RESULT FOR ALL COMPETITORS.  ANY CARDS NOT ENTERED INTO THE TOUCHSCREEN WITHOUT GOOD REASON WILL BE TREATED AS A NO RETURN.

  • YOU MUST NOTIFY A MEMBER OF CLUB STAFF / COMMITTEE MEMBER / VOLUNTEER IF THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE USE OF THE SCREEN IMMEDIATELY .

  • On completion of the touchscreen process you must promptly exit the clubhouse via the same main entrance  and if you require entry to the bar area do so via the external patio doors only , where hopefully your group have rewarded your efforts with  by having a drink awaiting for you!!

Support will be available on the day via the shop or by emailing me at competitions@hlsgc.co.uk

The posting of the result will be subject of all cards being returned and verified by the competition team and will if possible  be posted within 24 hours of the conclusion of the competition.

It would help the process if members can wherever possible agree in advance of attending to play who will be performing the role of marker so as to avoid  any  unnecessary  entry to the shop by members.

Thanks to everyone for helping in the running of previous competitions by adapting to the the electronic scorecard system.

I appreciate there have been rules and instructions changing on a regular basis but I hope this return to a more familiar system is for the long term and you all continue do your bit by adhering to the above process and  continue to allow us to effectively run competition golf at HLSGC.
