The festive period is well and truly amongst us and first of all I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a
Happy New Year.
As I near the end of my tenure as Captain of this great club and as I have handed over the running of the Winter Competitions to my Vice Captain Ken Musgrove I find myself reflecting on the year gone.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the role and although it has been challenging at times I have tried to do my best for the club when making decisions that affect us all.
I would like to thank you all for affording me the courtesy and respect that comes with the position and I have really enjoyed getting to know more of you throughout the year.
There have been many highlights and one or two things that have been slightly disappointing but I have tried to take them all in my stride.
For those of you who have managed to attend the many presentations I have spoken at, you will have heard me singing the praises of all of those people who have supported me throughout the year. I would like again to thank those people (you know who you are) for being there at all times, day or night, rain or shine in keeping me right and making sure that everything ran smoothly.
Finally, I must say a special thank you to my wife Mags who has been unwavering in her commitment and support in making sure that my captaincy ran as well as it could.
I hope you all continue to enjoy your golf and stay safe both on and off the course.
All the best
