The year 2008 sees this golf club celebrate its CENTENARY YEAR, in 1908 it was officially formed. However, the play commenced in four fields in Warden Law in 1906. There was a partial movement of the course in 1912 to being completely situated in Copt Hill. Over the following years, new greens and bunkers were added, and with it's natural layout it became one of the most favourable courses in the county. Increased membership by 1925 had encouraged the need to proceed with enlarging the course to 12 holes. Shortly after this the club had secured 23 acres of adjacent land to the existing course, which enabled the construction more holes to the ultimate number to 18 holes. These holes existed until 1943 when the local farmer required land back. It was back to 12 holes.
Work began on the South side of the course over the Rough Dene Burn in 1947 to make the course into 18 holes again, in 1957 the course was again reduced to 12 holes and later it was down to 11 holes. Land became available once more to extend to 18 holes, this was to the West of the course then and where we are situated now. This was opened in 1980 and has been improved over the years with a huge number of trees, which have added to the maturity of the course. Increasing and encouraging wild life.
The amateur course record is held by John Ellison Jnr., recorded a 63 on a miserable foggy day during the Inaugural Am-Am in 1992.
Stuart Ord holds the professional record with a 65 during a Pro-Am in 2002.
